A lot happened in the music industry in the past 12 months which we have chronicled. In the AfroDives space, we did many stories bordering on analyses, reviews and talent showcases. This marketing analysis piece focused on one of Mavin’s new acts, Bayanni. It exemplifies AfroDives’ inclusive approach to music and music marketing analysis.
3. Ife to the World: Asake leading the charge for OAU graduates in the music industry
The social media posts about this article had the most engagements on our handles and this translated to more traffic and signups for the AfroDives’ newsletter. Obafemi Awolowo University graduates loved this one.

By engagements alone, this was AfroDives’ best-performing article of 2022. This was perhaps unsurprising, given that it was a dive into one of the knotty but trending issues on the internet.

A highlight of 2022 for AfroDives was the partnership deal we signed with Whip Music Africa, a music tech company that is committed to levelling the playing ground for up-and-coming artistes who may not have access to vast resources.
